Interview #1
The first interview up for this year is that of long time club man Garry Walsh!
What has been your favorite cricket memory? - " Taking 4 wickets in 3 balls to win the game at Shaw's Bridge v Cooke"
What is the best ground [ not counting Drumaness} you have played at and why? - " I always enjoyed playing at the Banford Green when Millpark played there. It felt like and old-fashioned classic ground surrounded by trees."
What is the worst ground you have played at and why? - "Mallusk Playing Fields. Never a good wicket, long boundaries, long grass and terrible weather."
What team has the best teas? [not including Drumaness] - "Donacloney always put on a good tea. Plenty of sandwiches, buns."
Who was the best player you have played against? - "Would have to say the Donacloney Mill Pro Atish was the best batsman I’ve played against in recent memory. Scored over 300 runs against us in 3 matches."
Who was the best player you have played with? - "Alan Mills - I learned so much from him. He could do everything. He was the most intense cricketer who would not accept anything less than 100% he’s a major reason why so many of us played cricket in the first place back when we were kids."
In your opinion who is the greatest batsman of all time and why? - "Sachin Tendulkar - He’s the master and showed that batting is not all about power and size."
In your opinion who is the greatest bowler of all time and why? - "Shane Warne - He was a magician. No cricketer has had a bigger impact inside and outside of cricket. There will never be another bowler like him. He was a box office attraction when he bowled."
